JCollection 0.10.0rc2 ready

0 Trackbacks

After a long time, the new version with some small bugfixes is ready. Most notably, the webservices should now work with PHP 5.3 and the installation routine uses more compatible MySQL syntax.

Joomla 1.6

0 Trackbacks

Here it is, Joomla 1.6.0 is ready for download at joomla.org! The question is: do JCollection and the trackback component work with Joomla 1.6? Short answer: no. The problem starts already with the installation routine which uses functions that aren't provided by Joomla 1.6 anymore. I am planning to release a complete re-write of JCollection this year, which will not only work with Joomla 1.6, but also will be much more flexible and powerful than it is at the moment (there are also Wordpress and Typo3 frontends planned). For the trackback component I haven't planned anything at the moment, since there was close-to-none (except 4-digit numbers of downloads) feedback concerning functionality, improvements or donations. So I really don't know what to do with it.

JCollection 0.10.0rc1 ready for download!

0 Trackbacks

Finally, the release candidate 1 (version 0.10.0rc1) of JCollection is ready for download on the JCollection homepage. Go ahead and try it! The translations (English/German) are more or less complete, there are a number of new plugins for all sorts of webservices, and a lot of improvements. Don't forget to get back to the JCollection forums and let me know if you like it or if you have found any bugs!

Please note that the documentation is somewhat outdated, new manuals and tutorials will be released. Meanwhile, have a look at the first two JCollection screencasts.

Translations

0 Trackbacks

There is a second "TP" ("technology preview") version of JCollection! It is a lot easier to use, at least I hope so. There is a feature freeze now, and I have started to translate everything to German. As soon as this is done, there will be a Release Candidate!
